Walther Jungwirth, MD
Department of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery
Dr. Jungwirth obtained his medical degree from the
Medical University of Innsbruck in 1983 and completed his residency
in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University Hospital
of Innsbruck. During and after his residency, Dr. Jungwirth completed
several researches in the field of plastic surgery and joined many
congresses in the USA. In addition, he went to Peshawar, Pakistan
in 1991 to provide medical help for Afghan casualties. Dr. Jungwirth
contributes to international scientific meetings and journals specializing
in aesthetic plastic surgery and he is international correspondent
of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is the
first plastic surgeon to provide power-assisted liposuction in Europe
and the first plastic surgeon in the world certified with ISO 9002.
Dr. Jungwirth is Board Certified (Facharzt) in plastic and reconstructive
surgery. He is head of the department of Plastic, aesthetic and
Reconstructive Surgery at the EMCO Private Hospital. He serves as
board member of the Austrian Society of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive
Surgery and since 1999 he is certified expert witness in the field
of plastic and reconstructive surgery to Austria courts.
Clinical interests include: Facelift, blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty,
abdominoplasty and breast surgery including new techniques in breast
augmentation with the use of natural shaped implants.
