Josef Molcan, MD
Department of General Surgery
Dr. Molcan graduated from the Medical University
of Bratislava in 1974 and completed his residency in General Surgery
at Ruzomberok General Hospital and Bratislava University Hospital
in Slovakia. He is Board Certified (Facharzt) in general surgery.
Following his residency, Dr. Molcan completed two fellowships in
intensive medicine at General Hospital of Leoben in Austria and
General Hospital of Maribor in Slovenia. He joined several advanced
training programmes in minimally invasive endoscopic surgery in
Vienna, Hamburg and Paris and in vein surgery in Vienna, Graz and
Vienna Neustadt. From 1980 to 1997, he served as senior consultant
(Oberarzt I) at the Department of General Surgery at Schladming
Hospital in Steiermark/Austria. Since 1997, Dr. Molcan is head of
the Department of General Surgery at the EMCO Private Hospital.
Clinical interest include: minimal invasive abdominal surgery (gallbladder,
bile ducts, hernia and large intestine), rectal surgery including
minimally invasive colon and rectal surgery, vein surgery, thyroid
surgery and hand surgery
