Serban Aurel Esca, MD
Department of Dermatology and Venerology
Dr. Esca graduated from the Medical University of
Vienna in 1973 and completed his residency in Dermatology at Vienna
University Hospital, Salzburg University Hospital and the New York
Medical University School of Medicine. Following his residency,
Dr. Esca completed further specialized training programmes in dermatopathology
and skin surgery at the New York Medical University School of Medicine,
Graduate Hospital Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and New Orleans. In
1986 he became head of the Department of Dermatology at the EMCO
Private Hospital and established the Dermatology Care Centre, one
of the first institutes of its kind established in Austria. Dr.
Esca has received many honors such as from the Austrian Society
of Dermatology. He is also a member of several medical societies
including the American Academy of Dermatology (International Fellow),
International Society of Dermatology, American Society of Liposuction
Surgery and Austrian Society of Dermatology.
Clinical interests include: skin surgery (excision, skin grafting,
skin transplantation, dermabrasion and laser surgery), treatment
of leg ulcers, photo therapy and photo chemotherapy of chronic skin
illnesses like psoriasis, eczema and neurodermatitis, allergy treatment
and cosmetic treatment by means of peeling methods and laser therapy
of skin ageing and acne.
