Univ. Doz. Andreas Jungwirth, MD

Department of Urology and Andrology

Dr. Jungwirth received his medical degree from the Medical University of Innsbruck in 1985 and completed his residency in Urology at Salzburg University Hospital. During his study, he did a clinical clerkship at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. After his degree, he was a research fellow at the Department of Physiology and Balneology at the University of Innsbruck. From July 1995 to July 1996, he was a research fellow at the Tulane University in New Orleans under the supervision of Nobel Laureate Prof. Dr. Andrew V. Schally. He is Board Certified (Facharzt) in Urology. From 1997 to 2004, he served as director of the Department of Andrology at Salzburg University Hospital. He is also Chairman of the Austrian Working Group of Andrology and Sexual Dysfunctions, Assistant Professor for Urology at the Medical University of Vienna (since 1999) and a Member of Infertility Group of the European Association of Urology (EAU).
Clinical interests include: Prostatic diseases, prostate cancer, prostatic hyperplasia - minimal invasive therapy, voiding dysfunction, sexual and erectile dysfunctions, endocrinology and testosterone replacement therapy and infertility.
